May Photo Challenge on Facebook

Here's the new list for the May Photo Challenge over on Facebook
and here are some of the reasons why I chose them

Butterflies/Caterpillars - because they're pretty

The Humble Sandwich - national sandwich week is in May!

Through the Keyhole - not neccessarily a keyhole but looking through one object to see another??

Something Green - the colour for May is Emerald

The Mighty Oak - in honour of Oak Apple Day (or Pinch-Bum Day but I thought pictures of bums were out so picked oaks) this has something to do with the restoration of the Monarchy back in May 1660

Aeroplanes - in honour of Amy Johnson the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia in May 1930

Telephones - Telecommunications Day

Family - because...

This time I shall try a post on here everytime I post a picture on facebook should make life a bit easier!!!!

April Scavenger Hunt

Here are my photo's for this month's Scavenger Hunt....

St John's Church, Danbury
on church open days you can climb to the top and as it is already one of the highest points in Essex on a clear day you can see for miles and the views are stunning...
A Cross
one of the head stones in St Andrew's Church, Sandon
A sculpture
these fabulous rabbit topiary sculptures can be found in the gardens of a local country house

A Set of Keys
These keys hang just outside my back door, luckily they don't open it!!!

A Shop with an Unusual Name
can't be more unusual than...

My Camera

April Showers
this shot taken right at the beginning of the month any other April Shower shots would have been of the kids playing water fights in the garden

Breakfast
only kidding......this was actually lunch as I forgot to photograph the morning we all enjoyed crusty bacon, egg and mushrooms rolls cooked on the BBQ.
Eggs
some of Tompom's stash after our Easter Egg Hunt in the garden

Something to do with Shakespeare
this had me a little stumped until I saw this stamp!!!

Something to celebrate St George
I took this shot as we were driving along and could have kicked myself as it was called the George and Dragon but I didn't see the sign until we had gone past the pub....

Something Yellow
after making Paul stop several times to photograph fields of Rape I opted for this shot of one of the shrubs in our garden with has these yellow flowers in abundance... I won't tell him if you don't!!!

Right I'm off to add my blog to the linky list over at Postcard's from the PP

Dandelions and Daisies

There seems be a bumper crop of dandelions this year none more so than on the lane outside our house

I love the detail of the "clock" and can't resist sending all those parachutes off into the air.

There have also been a lot of daisies in the garden too and they always seem to grow in the middle of the lawn and it seem such sacrilage to go over them with the lawnmower.

I took these pictures before Paul set about giving the grass (and daisies) a quick stripey trim.

I have lots more photos to add from the April Photo Challenge and will do a few at a time and I will post my Photo Scavenger photos over the weekend as I still have a few illusive ones to capture yet!!!

March Scavenger Hunt

This is my first attempt at the Photo Scavenger Hunt organised by the lovely Postcards from the PP. I love this kind of challenge as everyone interepts the lists in different ways and it is great to see all the different photographs. You can see lots of the photos over on Kathy's blog by either looking at her Flickr group page or the Scavenger Hunt Linky page.

March List was an interesting mix and I managed 11 out of the 12 - it was the something as old as you that got me as I couldn't seem to think of anything......here are the 11 I did get!!!!

A Lion

I was hoping for a really cute picture of Tomas wearing this lion head but he was having none of it so it just the head for me this time......

A Rainbow

This amazing light sculpture is in the main entrance to the O2 and was changing colour as we left

Something Green

with green being my favourite colour I had many things to choose from but couldn't resist the cabbage and leeks we had with our roast last Sunday

A Collection

Our Marble Collection

A Lamb

Something Sentimental

Our wedding photograph it has been the only time I have liked any photo's that I have had taken.....and that was because I had such a fabulous day and was just talking to Paul constantly without taking any notice of the photographer.

An Empty Chair

We were driving back from the garden centre when I spied this chair and made Paul turn round so that I could take the photograph.

A Fancy Gate

This was taken on the same journey as the empty chair and again I made Paul turn around to take this shot and had to almost lie on the ground to get the church spire in too.

A Ring

Tomas found this metal ring in the garden

A Shadow

I love the shadow cast by this tree

and finally

Peeling Paint

I think Paul was fed up with all the turning around on our journey home and he spied this old farm machinery before I did.
