Today two of my children took part in a Remembrance Sunday Service. The Scouts, Brownies and Beavers walked a short distance to the church where they remembered some of the fallen heroes from the village, my daughter had the honour of reading out the names of the soldiers from the First World War. This photo shows them as they entered the church gate......

Dreaming
I recently joined a group on facebook called Get Motivated - Motivational Photo Challenges, you can find out all about them here.
The first weeks challenge was dreaming and I had this idea of clouds so I used Picasa to superimpose the two images together to reflect the dreamy nature of Tomas' eyes. I think that perhaps if I could have used photoshop then I may have been able to get a sharper image of Tomas' face but all in all I'm quite pleased with my first attempt.

October Photo Challenge - Shadows
I can't believe we are coming into the second week of October already....I've been busy taking pictures for the photo challenge and am putting them into groups rather than uploading them all together so here are some
shadows......
An arc of ivy leaves and shadows
I changed the colour on this one using Picasa and it sort of has a Wizard of Oz feel to it now....shadows......

I would have liked to have had a nice flower shadow but the only thing growing in this pot was a weed but it does cast a good shadow don't you think???

Charity Shop Finds......
One of our local charity shops was having a camera event today and I just couldn't resist these......
Two flask type lens holders

And what goodies are hiding in here....
A Kodak Brownie 127 made from Bakelite from the 1950's and this Agfa Silette also from the 1950's in its original case..
The cases were £2 each and the cameras cost me the princely sum of £3 for the pair.....
I have no idea is they work or not but just loved the look of them and they will look great in my summer house when I finally get round to painting it!!!!

For Joy....and more rain!!!
We have an old sycamore tree that we had cut down a couple of years ago and it just keeps sprouting new shoots which I attack on a regular basis and growing on these shoots is this strange looking orange fungi spore type growth which I photographed the other day, now Joy couldn't see from my last photo exactly what it was supposed to be so I popped out today and took another shot - hopefully this one's a little clearer!!!
What do you think Joy???
There have been lots of spider web with raindrops on taken for the October Photo Challenge so I decided to get in on the action and found this web lying horizontally between my sleeper bed and step so I have taken one photo from underneath looking up

What a difference a day makes....
Yesterday was Wet, Wet, Wet, Doctor Foster himself wouldn't have enjoyed the day more.......
Today it's dry, sunny with a little cloud and quite warm, I even have the washing out (shhh!!! don't say it too loud!)
I'm hoping to get out a bit later and take some pictures of the leaves for the challenge but until then here are some Yummy (No.11) cakes from yesterday's Macmillan Coffee Morning.

October Photo Challenge
It's the first of October and time for a new photo challenge here are this month's themes
It's been raining here today non-stop since lunchtime so as I left the house for school pick up time I grabbed my camera and whilst waiting in the car took these two shots.
I hadn't deliberately parked centrally in front of the pylon but it worked great for this shot...
I like the fact that you can just see the windscreen wiper in this one....
I had wanted to take one of all the umbrellas bunched together outside school but just need to get over the embarrassment of pointing my camera at people when they don't even know you!!!!
